I'm selling a set of 3 DPS cards for editing video on a PC. It includes a DPS PVR capture card, an FX-2500 accelerator, and an A4V audio card. It comes with manuals, cables, and software & drivers as pictured, $499 obo. Shipping, handling and insurance is $10 anywhere in the USA.

DPS PERCEPTION PVR & CAPTURE CARD - The DPS Perception Video Recorder is a PCI card based digital video disk recorder system featuring 10 bit video encoding, CCIR 601 4:2:2 processing and an integrated SCSI disk controller. With total recording time limited only by the capacity and number of attached drives, the DPS Perception Video Recorder forms the foundation of an integrated digital workstation. Multi-platform support for Intel, and DEC Alpha processors Used with animation software or other computer graphics applications, the Perception Video Recorder (PVR) can directly import RGB files through its PCI bus interface. The PVR integrates completely with your existing software packages using an innovative DPS file system in which video frames appear simultaneously in many different file formats. Any software package capable of saving RGB images to or loading them from a hard drive can be used. Stored files can be instantly played back in real time or slow motion. An optional real time video capture daughter card turns the PVR into an actual component video disk recorder. Component (Betacam/MII), composite and S-Video inputs are provided. A sophisticated automatic entropy prediction circuit is used to determine the optimum amount of video compression on a frame by frame basis...even during real time recording! The user also has complete manual control over the compression/quality level settings. Captured video can easily be exported as sequential RGB files for rotoscoping and other compositing applications. Features · 10 Bit, 2X Oversampled Video Encoding · Integrated SCSI-2 Hard Drive Controller · PCI Bus Card · Multi-Processor Support Via Windows NT Software · Component, Composite and S-Video Outputs · Recordable 24 FPS Mode · Live Video Capture Option Provides Entropy Prediction

FX-2500 ACCELERATOR - The DPS Perception F/X is an optional accessory for the DPS Perception Video Recorder whcih significantly reduces the time required to render complex non-linear editing transitions. Although the F/X does not provide real time transitions, it can improve the productivity of non-linear editing systems by dramatically speeding up the rendering time for many transitions and effects. A standard DPS Perception Video Recorder provides real time cuts between video clips. For other transitions, such a dissolves and wipes, a substantial delay can occur while the host CPU processes source frames on a pixel-by-pixel basis. A 30 frame dissolve can take minutes to render, even when using a fast CPU. The Perception F/X reduces this time to less than 10 seconds. Specifications HARDWARE: The Perception F/X is a full length plug-and-play ISA card which connects to the PVR CVE-2 bus via a supplied ribbon cable. It contains two channels of video memory, key channel memory, a key processor, image scaling hardware and a linear video mixer. Acceleration is accomplished by sending the PVR's native YUV digital video data directly to the F/X card's dedicated video processing hardware via a high speed digital link. All transitions and effects are processed in dedicated high-speed digital hardware rather than by using the host's CPU. The DPS CVE-2 "overhead bus" virtually eliminates delays in transfering PVR video frames to and from host memory via the PCI bus. Like the PVR, Perception F/X operates entirely in the YUV domain. This eliminates the need to perform time consuming RGB color space conversion. SOFTWARE: The basic operation of the DPS Perception F/X is controlled by a kernal mode Windows NT driver. The implementation of most F/X features is dependent on external software. "Plug-ins" for popular non-linear editing programs such as Adobe Premiere 4.2 and in:sync Speed Razor are available. EFFECTS: · Accelerated rendering of transitions including cross fades to/from black or a specific color, dissolves, wipes and bordered wipes (with definable color and width) Instant cropping of video · Fast title (fixed color) superimpose with/without drop shadow plus roll and crawl · Graphics superimpose with alpha channel · Graphics superimpose with chroma key · Picture-in-a-picture superimpose with 2-dimensional anti-alias filtering · Instant horizontal and/or vertical flipping

A4V - Perception Audio for Video The DPS Perception Audio for Video (A4V) board provides comprehensive audio post-production capabilities in a single add-in board. Used with the DPS Perception Video Recorder, it forms a complete audio/video finishing suite on the desktop. The A4V board is a PCI bus card and requires a full-length slot. Input and output connections are made via supplied breakout cables. Digital audio is stored on the system hard drive. To ensure compatibility with popular third party audio editing software, the DPS A4V records and plays standard uncompressed WAV files. It can also be directly controlled by third party video editing applications such as Star Media Video Action NT and in:sync Speed Razor. Some other details of the Perception A4V: Perfect video/audio synchronization when used with the DPS PVR True audio scrub Non-linear, non-destructive audio editing. No waiting for edits to compile Simultaneous record and playback. Up to three stereo tracks can be played while recording one stereo track Real time 4-band Parametric EQ for each channel (assignable by stereo pair) Mix four stereo source tracks down to two output channels in real time Real time reverb and compressor/limiter. Additional effects can easily be added via software upgrades. Built-in LTC and VITC time code reader/generater/inserter. Easily create "window dubs" with TC info super-imposed over composite or S-Video signal Unlimited audio editing capabilities with third party software.
