Electronic monitoring, home confinement!

First off let me say "I am NOT looking for a way to beat the machine!"I live in VERY rural West(by God!)Virginia. I have to wear one of thesethings for 6 months as a result of a misd. assault conviction involvingdefending myself in a bar-fight... That said, I don't need remarksabout my poor choice of places to spend my recreational time... Now tothe point of my post. The LEO that is the "administrator" of theelectronic monitoring home confinement program in my county is at besta high school grad! His inability to explain, or even READ, theregulations of the program has convinced me of his ignorance. I askedhim the same questions I am asking here. He was unable or unwilling toanswer them. I simply need to know the limits of my monitoringdevice?(BI 9000) What do the lights on the front of the base unitsignify? I surmise the meaning of the "power" light to mean the unit'spower is on! I am guessing that the "telephone" light goes on when theunit is being called or making a call, however I have yet to see the"telephone" light on! Now to my most important query. The "range" lightis on at all times and is amber in color... What does this signify? Canthis unit be configured by the "administrator" for different rangesettings? I live in a rural setting. I simply want to be able toretrieve my mail and feed my dog without setting off the device. Iwould like to ask the Court for a greater range of movement and atleast know what I'm talking about when I make the request... Thanks!LJ

Were there any curfew conditions imposed on your sentence?

Depending upon the sentence, some people only have to remain indoors during defined hours, such as between the hours of 6.00pm - 6.00 am but they are allowed to leave home in order to attend work. If you do have a job then you must be allowed to go out of range during daylight hours.

Must be modulated, right? Otehrwise, someone would set up a little oscillator and be free to come and go?
