Free ? I think you're a little optimistic ;)
And the "paying" cores are $$$ (well, that depends of the speed / profile / ... you need but not cheap).
What application do you have in mind ?

oki, in fact, I am just looking for an example for architectural synthesis, because I have applied our tool for AES and Sobel, I want to try a more big example, I have DWT core in VHDL, and I have no time to write a jpeg by myself.
