Is anyone aware of a commercial device i could send to some troops in iraq to block those road side remote controlled bombs? Or even a device to explode them ahead of the troop vechicles.
I dont have any details on the frequencies in use, what are your suggestions?

I think they're using cell phones.

In that case they don't need a jammer, they need a cellular base station transmitter and receiver connected to a computer set up to dial every available phone number, and mount the system in at least two of the trucks in every convoy.

When I helped set up temporary phones for construction workers at ground zero I learned they have a name for little cell sites mounted on open-frame trailers: COW (Cellular On Wheels).

Reminds me of Gimli in LOTR Return of the King: "Going into battle with .. impossible odds -- what're we waiting for!?!"
Without an idea of what the freq band is, it's nearly impossible to determine how to reliably jam it or explode it. Could be they're using some simple things like a garage door remote and receiver. In any case, I think the military has a a lot better idea of how to do this than civilians do. After all, warfare is their business.
Oh, one other thing. I would think that instead of trying to detonate or jam the bomb, it would be wiser to locate the source of the detonation command. That way, instead of eliminating the bomb, you eliminate the source of the bombs.
Sort of like "teach a man to fish.."

If the soldiers are lucky, they might detonate a bomb before the enemy gets away from the location.

For a couple of years now, I have been suggesting hardened tunnels at the entry ports to israel, fore the walk ins.
The tunnels have top vents and big slabs that fall in place in front of, and behind a suspect, then the chamber gets flooded with RF, and EMP pulses. The doors are actuated by bomb sniffers.

Good point. Of course the Darwin effect applies here; if they're that dumb, they will eliminate themselves from the gene pool. I know from experience (I was a Reaction Research Society member), that any such circuit should incorporate a timer that will allow the person arming it a few minutes to leave the area before it arms. That way, if something goes wrong with the trigger system, it wouldn't harm anyone.

Or perhaps CCOW. Cellular Cell On Wheels :-)
In a recent documentary on the Discovery Channel these "cows" were spelled CCOWs.

Perhaps one should cook them in a fraction of a second? Try a huge microwave oven on these individuals and they "freeze" instantly. (just a guess). Make them "well done" or more so they will hold onto the grenade pin.

But that's not as much fun. People said "cow" so I'll go with that.

Aren't COW considered sacred in the Mid-East? ;-)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Its true there is not much you can do to stop a suicide bomber, but if they can block any radio frequency remote bombs it might save a few lives.
True the ultimate solution to remote bombs is to get out of Iraq, or at least get Iraq's to police Iraq's. Hopefully some day "the powers that be" will stop messing with the middle east - and let them live how they want to live.

Farther to the east they are, but not by Muslims! You might be thinking of the incident that was triggered when British colonial forces issued ammo to their Indian soldiers that was lubricated with pig and cow fat. The soldiers were Hindu and Muslim, and to one the cow is sacred, and to the other the pig is dirty, so it caused a bit of a rebellion.
