How is the U.S. embedded systems software engineer market these days? Has the mean time that an unemployed engineer takes to find a job increased?

It's probably tougher most places in the US.
I haven't had a recruiter call or write in perhaps 9 months, now. But I never relied on them or ever used one, to my recollection. It's no matter, at all.
My own book isn't full, either. But that's fine because I'm filling in by working on some products of my own and I have diverse incomes, anyway.
