I recently watched SparkIO's Kickstarter video for the Electron GSM/GPRS module. Needless to say, I cannot believe that I didn't think of marketing such a device to the DIY community earlier. That aside, I did notice that the Electron uses the U-Blox SARA modem, which is not LTE capable.
Can anyone recommend a (hopefully inexpensive) embeddable LTE module of similar variety to the SARA? I am aware of the TOBY line, also from U-Blox, but the pricing on those modules is prohibitively high. Telit also manufactures a few LTE modules, but I haven't been able to obtain any pricing information on those by Googling around.
