Anyone used C/Peg (or Peg) UI

I've just started a project with a new client and they have decided to use C/peg UI template (from swell software).

As is common with small companies they haven't got around to entering into a support contract for this so we are left with the slightly incomplete documentation.

A search on the web brings up nothing other than the author's site and some from the RTOS developers who have integrated to it.

Does anyone here have any experience of this software who can perhaps point me in the direction of a user group of some kind that can help us get started.

I use Segger's GUI so I can't offer much help here but I do recall that when I was deciding which GUI to use then Swell were very helpful and I'm sure they sent me a manual (which I will have deleted by now). The manual looked pretty good from what I remember so, if you ask them, there's a chance they will send you a new one.

However, your quickest way to get up and running is to cough up for a basic support package which might not be too expensive.

I don't know of any GUI forums though.

Well thanks for that.

We did manage to get them to give us the code to download the manuals, but TBH what superficially looks like it is a comprehensive API manual is lacking when you get inside it. And we also need a 'petzold' equivilent which seems to be lacking.

3K GBP. Not too much for a corporate, even a small one, but far too much for an individual. Still waiting for someone to send the cheque.

I can't offer much help because I haven't used PEG. One thing I can suggest is that (if it is anything like emWin) there is often a way of working around the problem using some of the simpler graphical functions and a bit of lateral thinking. Rather than trying to work out the window management systems and callback mechanisms then you might be better off with drawing rectangles where you want windows and manually updating and clipping them. It is re-inventing the wheel but might be quicker in the long run. The manual should be adequate for the simple stuff.

Ouch. Maybe they have some flexibility and will answer one question for a lower price. I'm sure they would rather have some money than no money unless it would take a lot of effort to answer your query. However, I suspect you have more than one query for them.
