The Wimax indusrty does not seem to want to talk to potential users, like you and me, and it seems quite difficult to get information

Hi, I collected some basic information about these by searching the internet.

Active base station (BS) ========================== A BS that is informed of the mobile station (MS) capabilities, security parameters, service flows, and full medium access control layer (MAC) context information. For macro diversity handover (MDHO), the MS transmits/receives data to/from all active BSs in the diversity set.

Serving base station (BS) ========================== For any mobile station (MS), the BS with which the MS has most recently completed registration at initial network-entry or during a handover (HO).

Target base station (BS) =========================== The BS with which a mobile station (MS) intends to be registered at the end of a handover (HO).

Neighbor Base Station ====================== For any mobile station (MS), a BS (other than the serving BS) whose downlink (DL) transmission can be received by the MS.

The BS, which can receive communication among MS's and other BS's, but the level of signal strength is not sufficient is noted as "Neighbor BS".

Thx, Karthik Balaguru

Karthik, You are in the wrong newsgroups for this sort of information, maybe other people here can point you in the correct direction,.

I understand the need for greater Wimax communictions but I can not help you.

Anyone here got any more suitable sites?
