Customs answer about importin a DSO - for your information

Dec 23, 2010 1 Replies

Dear Mr X

I kindly ask you to excuse my delayed answer caused by an extraordinary large number of enquiries.

The import duties depend on the kind of oscilloscope.

I fit is a cathode ray oscilloscope, the customs duty rate is 4.2 %.

I fit is another oscilloscope than a cathode ray oscilloscope the customs duty rate is free.

The import VAT rate is 19 % in both cases.

Customs duties are calculated as follows:

invoice value of the goods

  • shipping/freight and insurance costs = customs value customs value * duty rate = customs duty amount

customs value

  • customs duty amount = import turnover tax value import turnover tax value* 19 % = import VAT amount

customs duty amount

  • import VAT amount = import duty amount

For legal reasons this information can only be given to the best of our knowledge and is non-binding.

Yours sincerely

Keller
