Solar charging batteries in wide temperature range

Jun 07, 2006 1 Replies

I am planning on continuously trickle charging batteries with a solar panel. Temperatures will vary widely, with temps less than 0=BAC likely. I am new to this, but from the information I have been able to gather, NiMH would not charge properly at such a low temp. Is this correct? Would a lead gell cell be an appropriate choice? Thanks for your help,=20

unless you're wantuing to keep the batteries indoors or need zero maintenance go with wet lead-acid batteries.
