MOSFETs and PWM

Well it's been twelve years since I worked on a vcr, but back then it was not difficult to get to the wiring (actually posts). You would unsolder the post from the pcb on top of the head ass'y, remove the screws and lift the head ass'y off the rotary transformer ass'y. BTW where did you look it up at? Mike

Google took me to the wikipedia. I've got an old 4-head VCR that doesn't work any more. I think I'll dig it out and take a look. Thanks.

Any of those methods should work. I was just suggesting an easy/cheap way of getting the power to the rotating section.

On the VCRs I've pulled apart, it'd be pretty easy. You can reach the solder pads from the back of the drum.
