I have two RCA transistors; one has a black cap with three short leads forming a straight line, the middle one closer to one of the outer leads. The other one has a silver cap with three long legs forming a triangle, with a tab on the cap. Does any swell person know the leads of these two transistors?

The one with the leads in a line, with the middle one closer to one of the outer ones - the outer one that it's closer to is the emitter; the middle one is the base, and the far one is the collector.

For the ones in the triangle shape - if it has a tab on the rim of the can, it's next to the emitter, the next lead is the base, and the further one is the collector. If there is no tab, hold it with the leads facing you, like this:
