Engineering math books

What is your thought on engineering math books that have everything crammed into it? An example of the books I speak of is

He also did "Further engineering mathematics". They're rather good. Both straight to the point with zero waffle. Kind of books you can dip in and mug up or confirm something. They've been going since '72 so somebody must like 'em! regards john
