Bamboo Product ?

I saw a product which claims that when this product is place infront of the CRT monitor it will absorbed the radiation emitted out from the CRT monitor, hence protect your health. When place at four conner of your living room it will release negative charge to improve your living environment. This product is actually a bamboo which was placed under high temp. and thus turning it into a charcoal. Dear menbers can this be accepted ? Thanks Regards

There is almost no radiation from a CRT monitor. You probably get more from one dental X-ray than you will receive in a lifetime in front of the monitor. Send me $ 20 and I will do as much as that product will do for you.

Where do I send my $20? I want to be protected, too. Hallelujah!!

I would agree, but maybe the minimal amount of x-rays produced by the crt might just be asorbed by the bamboo charcoal. If not you could use the charcoal to cook uo a couple of steaks.

Ummm..... That's a NO.

Excellent idea. Mine's rare.

It is my honoured and courage to post this question to the menbers when we are not clear of any product. But for you I am not clear your motive.

Very wise.

He mistakenly thought that you were 'advertsing' such a product. The lack of a linking URL probably made him realise his error.

Use the charcoal to enrich the dirt in your garden, it will make the plants grow big. That is the only good that will come of it.

any charcoal will absorb electromagnetic radiation, for this reason it appears black, measurable health benefits seem unlikely

Releasing negative charge (negative ions?) seems unlikely without a powersupply.

"activated" (ie steam-treated) charcoal is commonly user to purify air.

Charcoal can absorb (actually, I think the word is "adsorb") odorous vapors from the air, yes, but that's about it. (well, you can grill burgers & such over it, if you can get it to burn)

And if you absorbed the radiation emitted from the front of the CRT monitor, you wouldn't be able to see the eye candy. ;-)

Guess it's the latest version of "The Bamboo Curtain". ;-)

No big deal - he's selling charred bamboo sticks. Ho, hum. ;-)

Oh, wait - on proofreading, he's not selling them - just wants to know if anybody knows about their efficacy.

Mowhoong, don't buy any. :-)

But, if you put the charcoal between yourself and the X-ray source, wouldn't it also interfere with the light propagation from the phosphor to your eyes? ;-)

Hmmm - I like mind just short of burned. I don't eat "red" meat - it turns brown when it's cooked properly. ;-) Raw meat is just too slithery.

I'm sure I can find some bamboo charcoal that you could smear on your CRT screen. ;-)

Now, if you want to be protected from the deadly rays from those newfangled flat panels, you need some of Doc Richard's Specially Treated Miracle Saran(tm), only $3.95 per lineal foot! ;-)

Since napalm is considered a WMD and no longer used by the U.S. Army, that would explain the *over* well done hamburgers.
