X-10 Filter Design

In other words, since this is for use in a live performance, can I insure that my x-10 network is totally localized and immune from incidental interference.

NO X10 is crap, Ok for christmas trees though

Yes. X-10 doesn't like to cross phases so it can be filtered.

If you really want to make sure it's not going to be disturbed much you can buy X-10 blocking filters. These are used to isolate loads that are either too noisy or act as a signal "sink". I never used one of these filters myself but supposedly they work. If you stay on the same circuit with your controls (all behind the filter) you should be fine. For controlling other stuff in the church or for controlling anything where a failure could be critical X-10 is way too unreliable, IMHO.

Don't know what you want to perform. But if it's the Bethlehem part for Christmas or something like that keep in mind that appliance modules have a two-position relay that let's off a loud "KLANK" every time it switches status. Lamp modules don't do that but you can only hang resistive loads onto those.

Hey thanks. They are all going to be lamp dimmer modules, so no KLANK. This show is their anual cabaret. After seeing what these people throw into a sunday service, I cant wait to see what they will do for this venue.

Make sure the modules stay in the open since they may get a bit warm.

I like those cabarets, always admired folks who can do that. I am more the lay ministry kind of guy in the background except when ushering. What would be really nice is to have a X-10 control box (PC) where the audio gear is and be able to run everything from there. But to make sure it'll be reliable you'd almost need an X-10 power meter to check the levels arriving on the stage sub-circuit.

But once in, they stay there.
