Please advise the latest designs for white LED backlighting of LCD screens? What are the major controller suppliers, in addition to Maxim? What is the better design using capacitor charge pump or inductor? What is the optimal number of LED in series? What is the typical dimming control designs? Thank you.

OK. thanks. This TI TPS 61042 is 30V inductive boost converter for 6 LED in series. Is there any other controller with more LED? How many more LED is optimum? Can I get more, such as 10 for 50V?

I'm guessing, but use 2 chips. 10 @50V is too much to ask I think, but I don't actually know. Maxim-ic.com do led drivers
