Are you related to DimBulb? Altera was way behind the curve in I/O capability. Xilinx was too, but bought the IP (company) for the Virtex line. Altera sat there looking stupid.

Three years out of data for leading edge performance perhaps, but what % of users wanted that over 5V compatability (in 1998)?
