I would like to have some fun making the worlds cheapest CD-quality audio player. I am assuming this means MP3, but any other format would be okay as long as its cheap, can play back 10 minutes of cd-quality stereo audio, and costs less than 10 bucks. It doesnt need a display, speakers, input buttons or the ability to select tracks, etc..When you power it on it just plays whatever is in its memory and loops forever. Are there chipsets out there that are real cheap now?

There are MP3 players that cheap. And 10 mins at 128K is only 10M or so, so even a 16M one would be fine. You may have to dissect the case, and make it do it.
Also, CD players are that cheap, and by definition CD quality.
