The last year or two has seen two new ICs introduced and one withdrawn. All for fairly predictable reasons.
nis6111 - obsolete / withdrawn as of 2008.
ir11672 introduced in 2009 with 'MOT protection mode' feature in it's state machine. This basically removes enhancement control on a cycle-skipping basis, when 'excess' on-time is somehow detected.
ZXGD3103, basically a modified ZXGD3101, introduced in July 2010, with reduced drive currents (4/7 to 2.5/6A source/sink) and reduced turn-off threshold sensing voltages (-45 to -16mV).
