This is related to a highly dubious product, but I found the operating principle interesting.
I have never heard of this effect before.
Can anyone explain or verify it?

The only thing I can explain is that it is TOTAL gibberish! I can guarantee they want to separate you from your money.

I expect they sell gold plated tin foil hats too!

And even those are probably "gold"-anodized aluminum.
That's probably why they don't work.
