That sounds like a "peddle" all right.

$4 with free shipping?
What's the current rating on those dimple switches?
With a name like bang good, how bad can it be?
The ones that are used with pneumatic dispensers are not much more money and they at least have a microswitch (of some dubious heritage) inside.
ROFL!

that looks like something that would arrive broken during shipping.
Linemaster makes a series of foot switches called Treadlite. They're on the small side, but made well enough. They look like they'd break if you stomped on them with boots, but that's a stupid thing to do anyways.
David Eather presented the following explanation :
Pity we are not told what Somebody wants to do. Voltage, Current, Service in general'
The switch above has a 6.5mm line plug hence no good for power switching
In fact it looks quite primitive and is to be found in DIY books for devices for disabled people.

If such a switch is used to control a relay, then it can safely switch damn near anything.

Phil Allison submitted this idea :
Of course Phil but I only referred to the switch. You could use it to trigger an atomic bomb but not on its own.
In case you did not know there are commercial foot switches that switch mains power. Just not the one mentioned above. :-@

** How pedantic of you.** Foot switches are rarely used on their OWN to do anything. ** Yawnnnnn..........
I deal with foot switches nearly every week.
Some of them switch audio signals by triggering a flip-flop that controls two VCAs or maybe multiple LED/LDR photocells.
Others operate in change-over mode to direct an audio signal to one of two inputs.
Still others are used to energise a solenoid that pulls a rubber pinch roller against a drive capstan in a 1/4 inch tape echo machine.
And some operate at mains voltage to control various 240V motors in a " Leslie" rotating speaker system.
See the relevant Wiki.
Piss head.

Boss makes a nice light duty switch pedal, otherwise the Treadlite (or whatever) metal unit with interior Microswitch will switch 120Vac at about 5 Amperes.
Sure, if it's fail-safe, because that tattoo machine switch is gonna fail.
