So how did it affect you ?

They are, but they are also generous without wanting it to be noticed. One 90+ year old lady whom we sometimes visit or give rides to saw us with another couple in the car. Also in their 90's. She said "Hey, please give this pot roast to them". She had made it from scratch like she does with all her meals, ate nothing herself and gave the whole roast to the elderly housebound couple. This generous woman could easily afford to have everything catered yet she doesn't, and it is rather difficult and sometimes painful for her to move about. I have no idea how she manages all this cooking while having to lean on a cane.

They have a better chance of winning the lottery than being an astronaut. That doesn't mean that they should spend every dollar they get on lottery tickets, though. :(
