I would like to estimate the size of a PCB with maybe 200 SMT components on each side and 50 thru hole components on one side, some custom. Too lazy to make up a spreadsheet and search for all the common sizes. Is there downloadable software that will ease this task? Thanks, Harry

A netlist requires a design rule checked (DCR) schematic. No need for a schematic if it will not fit the package. Cheers, Harry

does it? if you start a schematic in eagle, place some components and nothing else and switch to the board it'll have all the components, just with no connections.
or you could just open a board, place all the major footprints and try moving them around to see if it looks feasable
