How to test the saturation current of a commonmode inductor

Put DC current through it while measuring the inductance; increase current till the inductance drops. Or put a rectangular voltage pulse (repetitive, if you like, but low duty cycle to allow the magnetic field to reset between pulses) across it while measuring the current as a function of time. Lengthen the pulse width until the current ramp becomes nonlinear.
