I'm looking for employement because I find designing electronics enjoyable, and rather enjoy working with other people to get new equipment working. I certainly don't need the money - I've got pension income, and my wife makes enough money from her academic career to keep both of us very comfortably.
They'd be wrong, but they won't get a chance to find out if they don't talk to me in the first place. Apparently what I said in my last job successful job interview - back in 2000 - that I wanted to be useful - was persuasive. It's still true, but if they don't ask they won't know, and may jump to all kinds of silly conclusions instead.
I do have one hobby project going on at the moment but all the components I need to put togehter to prove that it works are on a slow boat from the Netherlands to Australia, and won't get here until December.
