I guess I'm missing the picture here. What does not stumbling over the bed have to do with exterior lighting? Is the bed out on a sleeping porch? Or does a trip to the loo involve going to a little shed out back with a half moon on the door? I don't see where the HOA restricts indoor lighting.
I have a motion detector with a dimmer on a hallway lighting circuit, dimmed down as far as possible, so one can find the doorways at night without blinding themselves.
