It was relevant to the argument I was making. Most right-wing arguments are defective in logic and based on a very selective view of the facts, and I was just calling attention to this well-established fact.

My arguments may have some effect on those with wit enough to follow them, but everybody does get to make up their own minds, though Fox News is more influential with some than with others.

We all stink, to some extent, but the particular nature of the stink is inaccessible over the web.

"walue" "Thise"? Everybody makes typos, but two in one sentence is rare. Those with enough wit to follow my arguments would realise that they didn't know who - precisely - reads my posts, and would also realise that this precluded them from making claims about why they read them. The people who respond to my posts obviously take them more seriously than they would pure entertainment.

There's also no reason to suppose that a serious post can't be entertaining. Some successful newspaper columnists are remarkably good at making serious points in a way that amuses the reader - satire is one way of doing this, but it's not the only way. Actually I make a whole lot more typos , but usually manage to catch them. I touch type using the Dvorak keyboard, but because my wife uses the same keyboard as a Sholes keyboard the keys are labeled for the Scholes keyboard .

I agree with much of what Bill Sloman posts. Of course the right wing-nut faction that infests this newsgroup has seen fit to attempt ad hominem attacks on me as well, in a futile attempt to discredit my contributions. Such are the last ditch tactics of those who have run out of rational ammunition. I try to avoid name calling and pointless pissing matches, but some of the more rabid conservatives and so-called independents have resorted to such childishness and it is tempting to respond in kind.

I don't know which is ore laughable. Those who supported him prior to the election, or those who continue to make excuses for his now obvious alliance only to the privileged elite and contempt for the bulk of the American People. Hopefully both parties will now make a sincere effort to find common ground and make progress that will benefit the middle class.

I like the Dvorak keyboard in principle, but I'd hate to have to switch between that and the regular keyboard. Definitely a JVC/Betamax situation.

Like I said, your perceptions are incomplete. Martin Brown and I sing from the same song sheet when it comes to anthropogenic global warming, but you probably don't pay any attention to that issue. There are other posters who share my prejudices in other areas, but one is enough to make the point.
