Re: For all the group

A friend of mine does that all the time. But you never know. L.A. can take anything between 5h and 10h from here. Or more :-(

That would be a very long drive. Depending on when you land at JFK the drive up the Van Wyck is going to be fun as well. Be careful when a lowered gold-studded Cadillac with 4-5 heavy-set dudes in there tailgates you. Let them pass ...

In my youth, in a 280Z, I made LA from here in 3 hours ;-) Now it's

5-6.

But figure this...

Leave home 2 hours prior to flight to park and get thru TSA Flight time 1 hour, if you're lucky and don't stand on the tarmac

0.5 hours to get your luggage 0.5 hours to ride a damned bus and get your rental car 1 hour drive to the client and/or hotel

5 hours total, to fly

Might be less than 5 hours drive if client is east of LA or North of San Diego... likely.

I had a limo from Newark one time, down into Joisey... he was fond of raising his fist at every traffic confrontation ;-)

Looking at a map, I may just drive down from Boston.

Yeah, but I know I can be in Santa Monica at the door of my client within 4-1/2h. There is no way to do that from here on I-5 without getting a serious ticket. Plus it can take a solid 2h just to get through or around Sacramento.

As long as people raise fists it's ok over there. When they raise other stuff it might become a whole 'nother matter.

Stop by Win's lab, for a nice chat about the next election :-)))

I met Win (and Steve Goldstein, a fellow MIT graduate) in Massachusetts, in December 2004.

I don't know if we're on speaking terms now, given our extreme political differences ;-)
