Re: Bob Dole E-mails McClellan

Didn't McClellan quit approximately 10 months after he became disillusioned with the Bush administration?

Seems to me that if you slowly realize you have serious ideological agreement with your boss, toughing it out for 10 months is a pretty reasonable amount of time while you get your "ducks in a row" and start looking for new jobs. The whole, "well, if you're unhappy you should speak up or quit" works fine if you're just some single person with job skills that allow you to readily find another employer, but in the real world responsibilities to one's family and the job market keep a lot of people in jobs that, in the ideal world, they'd quit in a heartbeat. It's debatable just how respectable it is to quit a good-paying job in an epiphanous moment when it becomes crystal clear how big of a jerk your boss is if the end result is that your family ends up on welfare for six months while you look for another job...

Whether or not it's acceptable to go and write a tell-all book about your experiences is another question, of course.
