"Operating Conditions" looks like 10 down, 50 up to me.

That lopsided spec may be a consequence of a small chip with a lot of shared-ground resistance, which explains what you're seeing.

The output voltage specs in fact suggest that the output nfet is a lot lower resistance than the pfet, by 3:1 or so.

I wouldn't say its useless it does have a few things going for it.

It's a lot quieter then the bipolar type, sub 0.5mA quiescent current, operates down to 2V, its dirt cheap. I think I paid about fifteen cents or less for the last ones I got off of Newark (ICM7555). I wouldn't pay much more then that for them considering you can usually find a PIC10F for about a quarter.

As long as you don't need tight tolerances unit to unit they are okay. Low cost micros are probably eventually going to make them obsolete though.

Intersils ICM7555 has some graphs showing output sink/source vs VDD and hi/lo output.
