Hello All,
Just FYI. Recently I asked how to get to the TIFF files in US patents. Jim and others showed how to do that. However, since my PCs are quite restricitve with respect to Active-X and stuff I had to look further and found something:
This downloaded one patent that I needed, nicely tucked into one big PDF file. Body, cover, pictures and all. Sweet.
There is a limited free service and also a paid service, the latter will allow PDF access to foreign patents. The free service is supposed to be slower but my download came across the broadband connection in less than one minute.

Hello James,
Thanks, I tried that as well. For some reason the individual sheets on it looked more "scanned". They weren't perfectly vertical and the drawings were harder to read. The drawings were from the "pre-CAD" days though when we had to do the daily cleaning of those dreaded ink pens.
Regards, Joerg
Hello Winfield,
That's the one where I got my first useful PDF download. It was flawless. No plug-ins needed, no Active-x or any of that risky stuff.
They have an office on a Carribean island. Must be great, winter simply doesn't happen there (but hurricanes do).
Regards, Joerg
