But usually a lot of engineers and high level managers are present at the RSNA. And not just to look at the models :-)

Walk away hell, since you've got his card just pull out your phone, call the engineer right there and say "I'm at your MegaSuperCon booth in front of your DC-to-3000 Angstrom counter/spectrum analyzer, and I'm wondering how to make it..."

Well, here I am in Palm Springs, but that really isn't a trade show town. As an engineer, I could represent folks from farther away competently, and it would be interesting work.

However, those booths aren't cheap, esp. if you want to attract attention, so you need to have some fancy graphics and display boards. It is an interesting idea though... 8-)

So is all the lake front property in Florida, but the ignorant snowbirds pay a high preminum to be skeeter food in ther winter homes.

That's why there are no trade shows for programmers! What will it cost? How long will it take? Can you guarantee it to be bug free?

Microdyne sent their sales people, but most of them started out as production techs and had almost daily contact with the engineers so they not only knew what we built, but ideas being kicked around in engineering, and the new products about to be released. They were about

75 feet from the engineering department. Our best salesmen used to spend a few hours a week on the production floor learning about new products, and any new options for existing equipment. He could answer just about any question asked, but didn't hesitate to call the engineer responsible for a product if the customer wanted something unusual.

Seems you've never been to WinHEC. Despite the HEC, ist's a trade show for programmers. :-(

The EmbedSysCon is for programmers, for the most part.

So could most of Florida. Its been down to near freezing quite often. About half the plants in my yard, and most of the grass is dead from the nights when it dropped below 28 degrees for a couple hours. I haven't seen a winter like this in all the time I've lived in Florida.

How many of the actual programmers are there to talk to?

From companies? As I had mentioned we could not find really knowledgeable engineers at MS but lots of them at QNX and other exhibitor. I drove, two SW engineers from our company and one more from another company hopped into my car.

I had to scrape frost off my truck this morning. It's supposed to be in the 70s the rest of the week and next, though.
