That is nothing compared to the false negative rates on the present PCR tests which run at something like 20-30% even when used on people who are showing all the classic symptoms of genuine Covid infection.

A positive PCR test is *definitive* that you have detectable viral DNA (but it may not be live virus). As the test gets ever more sensitive it also picks up fragments of viral DNA long after patients have recovered. But you can't afford to take chances with a possible infected case.

A negative test when you are showing clear symptoms of Covid they tell you to isolate anyway (happened to a friend). But those who are positive but *test* negative and are showing no symptoms get missed completely.

That is the reason why testing at airports would lead to a false sense of security and give 20-30% of infected people a clean bill of health.

97% is very probably marketing hype. And the claimed sensitivity and specificity only applies in perfectly controlled conditions. The tricky bit causing trouble is taking a good sample off the patient safely.

You put a moron in the White House - what do you expect?

Obummer hasn't been in office for nearly 4 years. Pres. Trump has corrected many, but not all, of Obummer's screwups.

many, but not all, of Obummer's screwups.

Fluyguy would think that. He's silly enough to believe Donald Trump's lies. He's nowhere near bright enough to identify anything that Obama's administ ration did as a "screwup", and it takes deep gullibility to accept anything that Trump has done as any kind of "correction".

Trump's saving grace is that he is ineffectual. That the US Covid-19 death rate is now 589 per million (it was 586 last night) which is nearly as bad as the UK. France, Spain and Belgium - has now caught up with Italy while Sweden has now dropped behind - is the down side of him being inffectual.

Since Trump picked out the promises that he admitted to making , the fact t hat only about 25% of them look as if they were kept doesn't show him in a good light.

It's a extreme-right hate group with low credibility - clearly the sort of source you rely on.
