While doing anything: nothing, or metal. A bunch of stuff on my playlist, a few things come to mind; Metallica Tool Megadeth Static-X Smashing Pumpkins Fear Factory And about 200 MIDIs ripped from games and etc. Some I like to listen to, others I like to select when coming up with a game level. So it's practical too. ;-)

I heard a trick from relatives - don't know truthfulness of their claims of it actually being done however:
Play classical music, of specific works that are less-attractive in general and especially less-attractive to teenagers who hang out around the front door.
Sharply highpass-filter the music to exclude frequencies below roughly
16-17 KHz or so, so that your "teenager-repellant-noise" is inaudible or nearly so to men of age close to or over 30 or whatever. Amplify as necessary whatever harmonic content (whether properly present or present as distortion products - distort as necessary) is at such higher frequencies - the amount at frequencies that high could be small.Pick appropriate loudspeakers to play the "teenager repellant", perhaps piezoelectric ones such as ones that I remember (I hope correctly) that were made by Motorola, as I try to recall from my loudspeaker engineering days a couple decades ago. I believe these are still common and probably even still available at Radio Shack. I seem to think (I hope correctly) that Motorola part numbers for these start with KSN.
