I've tried something similar many years ago, the Atkins diet. Since I like bread a lot I eventually grew sick and tired of this diet and gained every one of the lost pounds back. In fall 2013 I started bicycling again and pretty hardcore. So far down about 22 lbs but now it has plateau'd for the 2nd time. It's tough. Seems my body's fuel efficiency has improved to the point where it uses almost no energy on a
40 mile ride. What I really don't understand is this: Heating fuel is one of the major expenses in every household up north because heating something takes tons of energy. I ride around in a T-shirt even when it's 40F and ... nothing :-(
