Edison was a fraud and a conman who stole other people's ideas, anyway. Look at the way he shafted Tesla.

There were a whole string of lightbulbs before Edison. Edison made one that was actually practical.

Remember how long it took Sony and Toshiba to develop a blue spectrum laser diode that lasted more than a few hours? Took years, even in today's modern technological realm.
