Mains power voltage drop to reduce usage? (2023 Update)

But considerably faster than a ZX spectrum from cassette.

No idea what mine cost since it's free in Scotland.

And they take f****ng twenty minutes! Labels, paperwork, f*ck's sake. Pick the packet off the shelf and hand it to the customer. 5 seconds!

In the UK we call BT technicians (they fix faults in the telephone/internet cables) engineers. That's not what the word engineer means. Engineers design things.

No, they also consume meat:

Remember once a relative was a patient in a mental unit at Fulbourn in Cambs she walked one day barefoot into the Co-op pharmacy in Cherry hinton and bought 400 Paracetamol tablets intending to eat them laters!

It doesn't take that many to screw your insides up, liver mainly, and leave you in a lot of pain.

Incidents like the above are why the sale is restricted as they are!

And Ibuprofen isn't a very safe drug, that can screw up your stomach and kidneys if too much is taken for too long !

Making sure that the national health data base for that particular patient is up-dated to record that that particular prescription has been dispensed takes longer.

If the computers and the networking software were up-to-date, it wouldn't take 20 minutes, but successive conservative governments in the UK have kept the UK national health system Spartan in the hope of encouraging people to sigh up for BUPA. It was always a silly idea, but Liz Truss was the kind of politician that UK conservative party members like.

Blimey.

Yes, but its a pain for the rest of us who find we have a cold or flu, and no paracetamol, and cant get to the chemist ... that's the moral dilemma, the balance between saving the live of one protester glued to a gantry over the M25, and the possible deadly inconvenience caused to thousands of other people

I try to always have max purchasable paracetamol around, because when you need it, you really need it!

Definitely. As can aspirin.

I've never had the misfortune to read such utter nonsense. There's nothing magical about cooked food. You can get every single piece of nutrition you need from uncooked foods. Firstly, you don't need meat, this is proved by the perfectly healthy vegetarians. No dairy needs to be cooked (apart from eggs), so you get loads of stuff from there. Think of all the uncooked stuff you can put in sandwiches. Fruit and veg doesn't need to be cooked.

Did you have a point?

Even eggs don't need to be cooked nutrition or health wise.

Please do not remove the groups from the post. Please do not set a follow-up to. I don't read the group you used.

No, I meant the person taking the pill writing up a mark on the calendar each time he/she takes a pill.

Me myself I use the plastic box. And for somethings, I take notes. Not pills yet, but may get there.

That would be nice, but if she can't figure out which compartment of the plastic box is the right one, I doubt she'll be able to mark the calendar.

My husband and I use plastic boxes. I have one for the pill that I really, really don't want to forget; that goes inside my clean coffee cup, ready for the next morning. My other one (vitamins and whatnot) is deployed when I brush my teeth.

I keep all sorts of lists. Things I want to get done today; things I want to get done this week; groceries that we need.
