Lowering LDL

I'm surprised that doesn't give an adjustment for height, it seems healthy waste size would very for someone 5'4" vs 6'8". Hmm, I measured 36.5 inches, but I consider myself to still have a little paunch. I think it is hiding my six pack abs. :-) Mikek

Let me teach you some manners. You should respond with, We need your height to have some reference for the 160lbs. That way you wouldn't be looked upon as being an asshole.

btw. I'm 5'7".

Sincerely, Mikek

I don't think it specifically says that, in fact if a test subject was not a pasta eater before the study, they may be eating for wheat flour. My wife suggested cooking the oatmeal and barley together is not going to work because of the different cooking times. I'll figure out another way t get it in my diet. Mikek

Found this re; beta-glucans

"Likely Effective for:

High cholesterol. Taking beta-glucans made from yeast or barley seems to reduce total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL or ?bad?) cholesterol in people with high cholesterol after several weeks of treatment. However, there is some research that suggests beta-glucans do not affect cholesterol levels.

--The conflicting evidence seems to result from how products containing beta-glucans are processed."

Hmm, does this mean, flour vs whole barley? it's always something.

ch reflect the real problem. For some reason fat on hips and thighs doesn't correlate with poor health.

Tall people need to be thinner. The BMI divides the body mass by the height squared, not the height cubed.

That's 92.7 cm, which is okay (just).

"Holding steady at 100%". Hahahahahahaha! I like it. Some REAL facts!

I've been doing 50-60 miles a week.

It's been my hips but other joints have been causing problems, not all in my legs but mostly legs.

We have three buildings in our complex, arranged in a 'C'. From one end of the 'C' to the other is 1/4 mile. The AC is appreciated. ;-) I do two round trips of that "track" three times a day (3x1 miles), then do a treadmill at the gym for an hour (3.5 miles) on the way home.

exercise is worthless unless you're a cripple. Also, the long drawn out stu ff like 2 mile swims are only slightly better than worthless. Those "workou ts" are not only ineffective physically but take a psychological toll due t o the boredom factor.

st

the height. Your 160 is less than impressive if you stand 5' 2".

If you swim two miles, you must be using a flotation device...just because you look like a beach ball doesn't mean you float like one. Is that "asshole" enough for you?

I wear a mask, snorkel and short fins, no flotation device. Why would you think I look like a beach ball?

You lived down to what I expected of you.

Why not visit a physiotherapist? He could establish the cause, maybe retro patella crepitus for which bicycling (on a well adjusted bicycle) helps a lot.

It doesn't hurt now. I like the idea of bicycling, a bicycle purchase has been on my mind for a while. I think I will have one in the next year.

Why, thank you. Of course, had you placed a comma in there, it would have been an entirely different exclamation... but you didn't.

However, I do not think I am of the caliber you declared. But not for any of the reasons the dopes in here would attempt to cite.

You know nothing about our history. He had it coming. More to follow as well.
