What browser are you using? I'm using Firefox with uBlock Origin enabled and I don't see a single advert. Out of interest I disabled it and reloaded the page and loads of ads appeared.

FWIW I tried the page with Vivaldi too, and that also shows no ads as it has its own inbuilt adblocker.

The ad thing is crazy. Every link seems to lead to a long useless can't skip video ad for some miracle thing or other. Youtube is useless now, all ads and fake AI stuff.

Popups are awful too. Don't people realize that they are driving off users?

I do check the several electronics sites regularly to keep up on new parts and such, but the ratio of crap to facts is getting very bad.

The electronics sites have the occasional "ideas for design" bits, but they are mostly trivial or downright stupid. Electronics News and Electronics Design used to be interesting.

Mouser and Digikey are OK for finding new stuff.

It could be argued that one of the main purposes of reading EDN, Electronic Design, EE Times etc. was to see ads for electronic components. Yes I could do without the ad on edn.com beckoning me to click on it and find out what happens when you mix Vaseline & Pepsi Cola, but the other adverts seem reasonable.

Yes, unless the ads are obnoxious pop-ups.

In Firefox go to Settings, Privacy and Security, scroll down to Permissions, and check Block pop-ups... Go ahead and check the next line, Warn you when websites try to install add-ons, for good measure if it's not checked either. If you need to visit a website that uses popups it will tell you at the top of the page and give you the option to allow them for that visit, and you can use the Exceptions button in Permissions to fine tune if needed.

Allergens aren't the same as poisons, they cause their effects in very small quantities. I can detect traces of mustard carried over by contaminated utensils because of the blinding headaches I get for 24 hours afterwards.

In the case of perfumes, there are components that are below my threshold of smell but they still attack my central nervous system. I become confused, dizzy and unable to focus my eyes. When those warning symptoms begin to show up, I have to get well away as quickly as possible.
