Interfacing a TI DAC904 to a programmable low pass filter

Dec 19, 2008 0 Replies

Hi,

I am trying to interface a TI 14 bit DAC (DAC904) to a programmable low pass filter made by Skyworks (SKY73201-364LF) .

I have managed to do a single ended interface but I am not certain of how to interface them differentially.

Both the DAC904 and the SKY73201-364LF provide differential analog interfaces.

Is it possible for me to connect the SKY73201-364LF directly t the differential output of the DAC904 or do I need some intermediate op- amp circuit.

The spec sheet for the SKY73201-364LF says this about the differential inputs: "the preceding stage must supply the base current and a common-mode voltage. A common-mode base voltage of 1.65 V should be applied to the inputs."

The DAC904 provides outputs in the form of two complementary current sources of 20ma, a differential output signal of 0.5Vpp at the load resistors.

Both spec sheets are here:

Any help, pointers appreciated.

Thank You
