Illiterate X-10 Question

This X-10 stuff is sure bottled up in "proprietary".

Any schematics around that show home-brew transmitter and receivers.

I sure haven't found any.

Which gets my dander up ;-)

The usual answer for special applications is to use the TW523, which provides isolation etc.

The top one especially looks not bad when it's printed out. Here's a FAQ:

The main patents seem to have run out (I don't think the digital tone detection claims in the later patent could be very special).

Echelon reportedly had a b*tch of a time getting a similar thing working reliably.
