how to build an electric scooter

Hi all, im sorry about my english but, I don't understand much about electronics and stuff, and I would like to know the easiest way to build an home made electric, batery scooter... I dont mind about the velocity I just want it to last much time. I got the chasis already done, but I dont know how to put batterys pulling the weel... can anyone help me please...? thank you!

You need a FET speed controller between the battery and the motor, The speed controller will read a potentiometer and vary the motor speed. see:

He doesn't need to get that complex. He just needs a pair of 6V batteries, a modest sized 12V motor, single pole double throw switch, some starter relays and a pair of pulleys with very different diameters.

He wants it to last a long time. This usually implies it needing to be very simple and over designed.

The double throw switch and relays is so that the batteries can be hooked in series or parallel: Ascii art
