High angle stepper motor

Does anyone make a small stepper motor with a large step angle, like

45 to 90 degrees. Or can a stepper be modified to allow a large step angle?

Maybe not quite 45 degrees, but Haydon Switch makes step motors with small numbers of steps.

There's not much difference between a stepper and a brushless DC motor, so you might think of using a 4-pole brushless motor.

Why do you want such coarse steps?

Would like to use existing signals to duty cycle between 2 positions.

Search for "rotary solenoid"
