You have to know how much attenuation you need.

What sort of microphone?
Microphone input on a Tascam DR-07mkII.

** There is no specific level for either.IME, headphone levels vary over a rage of 100:1 and mic levels vary over a rage of 1000:1
Try an attenuation of 100:1 ( 1kohms feed and 10ohms to common) and see how that goes.

OK, thats the INPUT, but what are you going to plug into that INPUT ??

Yahama P60 headphone output.
Without knowing either device. Taking mic level at around 1 mv, and headphone level at 100 mv, probably 100:1 is a good place to start.

most mixers generally have pad button for line/mic that is 20dB

1K to 10ohm "L" seems to work fine. Thanks. Now I just have to be careful that microphone power is never turned on.
