Go Faster Atmel '52 MCUs

Its now over a year that Atmel has had the single cycle 89LP2052 MCUs on their website - long enough to acquire errata etc, yet the only disty admitting to their existance is Digikey, and they show zero stock. Does anyone know if these things exist or are they just a chip designers wet dream ?. They say they are sampling but getting samples out of Atmel is on a par with getting moonrocks from NASA. Does anyone know the deal on these things ?. M
