I have a motor control drive, where a 115vac comes in, a triac is used to switch this AC supply. This 115vac is rectified to 115 x 1.414 =
163VDC. There is an MOV and NTC (for inrush current limiting), bridge rectifier and 330uF 315V electrolytic long life capacitor to store the charge.
If I switch this triac on and off 3000 times a day, allowing the 330uF elec cap to fully discharge and recharge 3 seconds later, will this greatly shorten the life of the elec cap? Is this where I have to pay attention to the ripple current rating?
Thanks, Mike
