ds1075 woes

Jun 09, 2005 0 Replies

Hi Im trying to use a ds1075-100 (programable oscillator divider) wich the spec says works down to 29.3khz. (upto 100mhz)

I programed it to give an output of 32.768 khz (from 4.096 mhz) wich is just above that however it gives no output. if i program it to give frequencies a bit above that it works fine, the confusing thing is it wil hapily give lower (or higher) than 32.768 khz ie 20khz or even 7khz, but just not the frequency i want, the frequency ratios confirm i have programed the corect divider value, and the mux register.

this is a bit frustrating and rather confusing how or why would they design a chip wich cant work at 32.768 khz but at most other frequencies ???
