I have an analysis of crystal oscillator power dissipation on which I would appreciate some comment. In designing a lower-power crystal oscillator around a
32kHz watch crystal, it is important to observe the 1uW drive power limitation. But until I worked up this analysis, I could not tell if I was over the limit or not. I am designing a circuit that will be placed into service where repairs will be expensive, so an empirical test is not good enough. I needed to know for sure.
