What you describe--your two eyes having different focal lengths--is termed 'anisometropia.'
Presbyopia--the loss of the ability to change your eyes' focal lengths to "accommodate" objects at different distances (accomplished in youth by contracting the ciliary muscles, altering the shape of your eye's internal lens)--comes with age, afflicting all who live long enough. My eyes' refractions are also dissimilar. Both are myopic, so I've gotta wear glasses to drive, but I enjoy the same advantages as you do, just for closer things.
