used Heat Press? and Printed Circuit Boards

I did a 6x9 board last night and it came out 85% done ...



I used the blue toner transfer paper and I am certain I can get 99% if not 100% transfer if I could get even pressure applied all across the board.



So I am thinking I should invest in a Heat Press ... you know the same device used to transfer logos to white shirts?



Prices on ebay are too high for something I dont expect to use more than once or twice a month.



I could try and find those stores that do the logo on shirt transfers (for company picnics, sports teams, events) but I dont know names or where to look?



Anyone?

Poke around on the net- some people have modified cheap commercial laminators to do the trick. The main problem with them is that they are not intended to take anything as thick as a typical PCB.

Here's one spot with info on that:

The "standard" plastic pouch laminators are apparently okay for 0.031" stock but do need to be modified for the more typical 0.062" boards.

Once you start accounting for all the fuss and trouble with chemicals and whatnot the price is reasonable.
